PTA

Derby Grammar School has a thriving Parent Teacher Association which brings together parents, staff and pupils for a number of fun activities, whilst at the same time raising funds for additional equipment to further enhance the pupils' education.

Amongst the activities that the PTA regularly runs or supports are: New parents' teas; the summer fete which takes place in June in the School's beautiful grounds; the House cross country and tug of war and the Children in Need concert. In addition the PTA holds quizzes, family walks, wine tasting evenings and family fun nights.

Each year the PTA raises significant funds and has in the past purchased items such as: a portable sound system; benches; additional staging; playground equipment and a new mini bus.  The fundraising aim in 2011/2012 will focus on raising monies for the renovation of the School's summer house into a mutil purpose fitness centre and for additional scenery for School productions. 

The PTA is an important part of the fabric of School life and welcomes all parents as members.  The PTA also runs a second hand uniform shop at School with a stock of good quality items of uniform and sports’ wear. A second hand uniform sale is held after School each term (details of dates are advertised in the School Calendar). Enquiries from new parents on an individual basis can also be accommodated.
