Admission to Derby Grammar School depends upon a student meeting the criteria of the entrance procedure, which is fully described in a booklet available from the School on request.
The School is academically selective within the top twenty-five percent of the ability range. The School's entrance procedure ensures that the School is able, as far as can be determined, to educate and develop the prospective student to the best of their potential and in line with the general standards achieved by their peers. The standards must continue to be met during the students time in School. In particular, the School has to be satisfied that all students have sufficient literacy skills to benefit from the education offered.
