Derby Grammar School Entrance Exam
The entrance examinations for entry to the Senior School are normally
held on the last Saturday in January (dates to be confirmed), and for
the Junior School shortly after the February half term. Examinations
at other times of the year may be arranged on request to the Headmaster's
secretary.
The entrance examinations consist of a general reasoning paper and
written papers in Mathematics, English Comprehension and Writing. Both
English and Mathematics papers are set to the standard of the National
Curriculum and boys for entry into Year 7 are expected to perform to
a standard broadly equivalent to a good level 4 or above. Boys seeking
entry above Year 7 may also be assessed in modern languages and sciences.
Entrance Examinations for the Senior School (Years 7 - 9) will take place on Saturday, 26th January 2008. All registrations for this examination should be forwarded to the Headmaster's Secretary by December 17th 2007.
Entry Assessments for the Junior School (Years 3 - 6) will take place on Wednesday 6th February 2008. All registrations for this assessment should be forwarded to the Headmaster's Secretary by Friday, 18th January 2008. |
